On May 15, 2021 Tappahannock Main Street and The DAW Foundation applied for a planning grant from the Department of Housing and Community Development and Virginia Main Street. If awarded, Tappahannock Main Street and The DAW Foundation would receive $50,000 to complete a financial and architectural feasibility study on the theatre. The first step to renovation. Thank you to Carolyn Anderton for gifting this original the popcorn machine back to the theatre. The machine was sold in 2000 to Tappahannock history buff Richard Motley.
A dedicated DAW Foundation Board Director, Randy Shuford, has taken on this restoration project.
